The Witcher Saga
Netflix will produce the small screen adaptation of The Witcher Saga, a series of eight novels authored by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.
In the books, the story centers on “witchers” — hunters who develop supernatural abilities at a young age to battle deadly monsters.”
The Witcher Saga will be executive produced by Sean Daniel and Jason Brown, who both worked on The Expanse scifi show on Starz. Sapkowski will serve as creative consultant.
There’s no word yet on how many episodes the first season will be composed. A premiere date has also not been set.
Netflix will also produce Tidelands, the streaming giant’s first Australian original series.
Tidelands is being described as a supernatural crime drama that follows “a former criminal as she returns home to the small fishing village of Orphelin Bay. When the body of a local fisherman washes ashore, she must uncover the town’s secrets while investigating its strange inhabitants, a group of dangerous half-Sirens, half-humans called ‘Tidelanders.’”
Tidelands will begin production in Queensland in 2018. Its 10-episode first season will run for 50 minutes, with a premiere date yet to be announced.
Arrested Development Season 5
Netflix has greenlit a fifth season of Arrested Development with series creator Mitchell Hurwitz returning as well as original cast members including Jason Bateman, Michael Cera, Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Portia de Rossi, David Cross and Alia Shawkat.
Season 5 is set to premiere globally in 2018.
Star Trek: Discovery
CBS has partnered with Netflix so subscribers may stream the 15-episode first season of Star Trek: Discovery within 24 hours of each episode’s airing on CBS All Access. It will be available in 188 countries including UK this autumn.

When insurance accidentally pays her millions, retired teacher Eva and her pal Maddie head to the Canary Islands for the adventure of their lives.
